I bought a property in 2007 and the advocate charged me CYP550 Cypriot pounds for stamp duty. I paid 125 000 CYP for the property. This is very high looking at the info on your website. Are the rates on your site correct?

Yes, most certainly. The stamp duty payable on the transaction is CYP 200(EUR 342) and most certainly not CYP 550(EUR940) that you have been charged. This amount would have been reduced, if for example you purchased the property with another person. The stamp duty would then be CYP 187-50(EUR 320).
